“Social worker, huh? So do you, like, take kids from their homes?”
Oh if I only had a nickel for every time I have heard this…And incase you are curious, NO social workers do not just take kids from their homes. But, what I can tell you is that social workers are some of the most loving, caring, patient, helpful, understanding, and nonjudgmental people you may ever meet. Not to pat myself on the back or anything….
Writing has always been a huge hobby of mine. I remember discovering poetry at a young age and writing poems on any piece of paper I could find. As I grew up, journaling also became a great outlet for me. Nothing made me more at peace than writing out my feelings and processing my thoughts.
I have also always been intrigued by listening to others and being a support for them. I always knew I wanted to help people, and when I asked my mom what profession would encompass providing love and support for others, she assured me that social work was the perfect match.
Whether through my career as a social worker in North Dakota, or just through helping family and friends, I love every aspect of my profession. I enjoy sharing my stories as a social worker in hopes that I can help others.
That is why I am here; to combine two things I am passionate about and share them with you! I want to share my experiences as a social worker, provide tips that I have learned along the way, and bring forth different perspectives to help motivate you all. I believe all of the things that I have learned throughout my career will be helpful for anyone who is willing to take time out of their day to read what I have to say. I hope you find my opinions resourceful and inspiring! My goal is to give you the opportunity to help yourself and others along the way.
